Chulu Far East (6056m), Nepal

Chulu Far East is a trekking peak just off the Annapurna Circuit near Manang. After trekking beside the Chhetaji Khola to Waterfall Camp (4110m), the trek continues to Base Camp (4900m) and then to Col Camp (5600m) between Chulu East and Chulu Far East. The final scamble to the Col was the hardest part of the climb for me. From Col Camp it is fairly straightforward climb with a few 45 degree steep sections that will require fixed ropes. The view of the Annapurnas from the summit is spectacular. I made the descent from the summit all the way down to Manang is one long day.
